Bump Watch 3.0

18 weeks

It occurs to me I haven't done a pregnancy update yet.
Probably because I'm tired and lazy!
Things are going well. I'm 18.5 weeks right now.
The first trimester was my least favorite of all my pregnancies. It was pretty much a combination of both. With Colin I dry heaved and was tired but felt pretty good. With Peyton I never dry heaved, did throw up, wasn't tired. Correction: Apparently with Peyton I did dry heave. A lot! I have since forgotten this but I was reading the blog from when I was pregnant with her and I talked about all the dry heaving I did! With this one I dry heaved, threw up, and was exhausted!
With the other two those symptoms ended as soon as the 2nd trimester started. This time it's gone on longer. I think the last time I threw up was at 16 weeks and I'll still randomly dry heave. I'm not as tired as I was before but I'm still more tired than I was with the others at this point.
I've also noticed that I get winded a lot easier than I did with the other two...at least I think so--maybe I just don't remember it! Just walking up the stairs tires me out. Maybe I need to start doing some cardio!

The baby's movements are getting stronger. Still not strong enough for someone else to feel but they're more pronounced than the flutters I felt a few weeks ago. At this point it doesn't move a ton throughout the day. I usually feel it when I lay down on the couch or in bed at night. It's usually just a couple little kicks for a minute or so. I'm getting excited for them to become even stronger and longer durations so Ryan and the kids can feel it!

My ultra sound is scheduled for April 2nd. We're still planning on not finding out, which kind of takes some of the excitement out of the ultra sound but I still can't wait to see our little baby's profile!! We're planning on taking the kids with us so they can see the baby too.

Here are some funny things the kids have said this pregnancy:

*In the beginning I gagged a lot while changing Peyton's diapers. One day she said "Don't say ugh, mom." She'll also tell me that other people don't get sick when they change her diaper: "Grandma's not get sick when she changes me."

*One of the videos the kids watch talks about small, large, and medium. A couple weeks ago Colin was telling Peyton who was what in our family. He said "You're small, I'm medium and mom's big...actually, Dad's big and mom is gigantic." I was like "What?!" To which he emphatically responded "You have a baby in your belly!" What's he gonna think in 4 months?!

*He also told me he wouldn't tell me when I get fat!

*I was holding Peyton tonight and she kept hitting my shoulder blade. I said "Don't hit me!" And she said matter of factly: "The baby's not in your back." What a sassy little thing!!!
(She knows she's not allowed to kick me in the stomach because the baby's in my belly- clearly she gets that it's okay to hit my back!)

*A couple weeks ago Kim and I were face timing and Colin came in the room and told her "My mom eats A LOT!" After we both cracked up he said: "What?! She has a baby in her belly!"
Disclaimer-- I don't think I'm eating that much right now!

That's all I remember right now! If I think of anything else they've said I'll do another post!

Mother, May I?

Peyton doesn't usually ask permission for things- she just does what she wants. But all of the sudden this week she's been asking my permission for everything!

We were eating lunch the other day and I had some chips on my plate. I didn't give her any because she'd said she didn't want them. Well she change her mind but instead of just taking them like she usually would she said "mommy, can I have this big chip?" And proceeded to ask me with every chip she ate- and the grapes we were sharing.

It hasn't stopped there. Yesterday we went to my moms and she asked her if she could look at one of her books.

Today at the park she'd come over to me to get a drink then when she was finished say "mommy, can I go play now?" When she was done swinging she asked "can I go play with Colin now?"

The other night during bath time she asked Colin if she could go swimming in the bath tub.

I've gotta say I'm quite enjoying this polite little girl! And it cracks me up!

Missing Something?

Colin lost his first tooth last week! I don't know where the time is going but this boy is getting so big!
I think we found out it was loose about a month ago- I don't remember exactly. The night before it fell out he showed me how wiggly it was while we were brushing his teeth. I knew it wouldn't be long before that sucker came out!

The next morning he came into our room while Ryan and I were getting ready and said "Look, Mom." Sure enough his tooth had fallen out! He said he was just wiggling it with his finger and it came out in his hand. He said it didn't hurt. He was so excited to tell all his friends at school and to show Peyton his tooth when she woke up!
That night we put the tooth in an envelope. Ryan told him to put it on his bookshelf.
Who puts teeth there?! I immediately walked into the room and said it needed to go under his pillow. Colin said "I'm going with Mom." So under his pillow it went!

The next morning Colin was super excited to find $5!!
I'm pretty sure that's only because it was the first tooth and every other tooth will be $1!
My sweet baby boy is getting so big!

Our Crazy Life

Life has been going at full speed but at the same time I feel like I don't have anything to write about!
That's not true though because there are a ton of changes coming up-- we just don't know what exactly all of them are.

One thing we know for sure: our house is under contract! We're supposed to close May 7th. I have completely mixed feelings about this. I'm happy to not have to keep it spotless anymore and worry about last minute showings. I'm grateful it sold so quickly- for here! Average days on market here are over 6 months and we've only had it listed for 2. I try not to think about the logistics of moving because that stresses me!

The person buying it came to see it last Wednesday. Our realtor called while they were here and said she'd gotten a call from their realtor and the showing was going great and they wondered if they could buy all my downstairs furniture and my bedroom set. Initially I freaked out, then I thought maybe it'd be okay, then I freaked out again. They did not end up asking for our furniture in the offer though so I don't have to worry about that anymore. They submitted their offer Friday night and we spent the weekend haggling. Of course Ryan was in Houston for his job interview during all this so it felt like a lot on my shoulders. It didn't help that I got a phone call at 11 Saturday morning asking if someone else could come see the house between 12 and 1. That was not enough advance notice for me so we pushed it back until 2:30. Thankfully my dad came and got the kids so I could get everything cleaned up (which really wasn't bad because I'd just cleaned the entire house Wednesday) without Peyton messing things up--that's the kicker!

Ryan's interview in Houston went great. We know they're going to make an offer- just waiting on it. Sometimes it feels a little overwhelming that all this is happening at once but if moving to Houston is the right thing for our family we're grateful that the house sold as quick as it did instead of being on the market for 6+ months. Once we figure out if and when we are actually moving to Houston figuring out the logistics of getting out of this house will be a little easier.

That's pretty much the main stuff that's been occupying our time these days.
After only working one day this year I picked up about 6 days in March so that's good--guess I gotta get some days in while I'm still employed!

Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks:

Colin was being a vampire. He's eating a red Popsicle to represent blood.
Peyton is such a cuddler--but she has no boundaries! She was literally sitting on me in my bed one morning! Of course I love it, though!!
Colin drew this one Saturday morning. I love it! I want to frame it and hang it somewhere in the new house.
Colin wanted to be a shark.
We had KFC for dinner one night. Peyton ate all her chicken and cole slaw but the potatoes were more of a play thing for her.
Ryan's grandma turned 86 last week. Colin made a card to send her. He wanted to put all the candles on the cake...it required 3 cakes ;)
Today we made a leprechaun trap for school. You can't really tell in the picture but inside is some more mossy grass and a pot of gold. I think I may have been on crack when I decided to use mossy grass! That stuff gets all over the place! My vision was to disguise the trap as a hill- that's where the grass came in but I think maybe next time we'll go a different route!

That's it for now. I will keep you posted on what our moving plans are once I know them.
