Found

3 of These:

If you do not recall, we lost these things about a month ago. While Ryan was cleaning Colin's room today he found them!!! They were in the side of Colin's crib!! There are a couple little holes in the side of his crib where the screws go for when you're lowering his mattress and stuff. Ryan was flipping a piece over from when we turned Colin's bed into a big boy bed (sorry if I'm totally confusing you right now...I know I'm not explaining it well) Anyway, he tried to put whatever little tool he needed to in that hole in order to loosen the screw and it wouldn't go. He looked in and low and behold, there are 3 little "golden bullets" lined up in a row!! I guess our monkey of a son IS "the best little hider in the world"!!!

On a side note, this should be a new post but I don't feel like doing 2 so I'm clumping them together! This one should be titled:

READY OR NOT!!

School starts TOMORROW!!! Bright and early, 8 AM. Some people might not think that's early but to me that's torture!! I can't spend too much time blogging about it because I just found out about some reading I need to do before class tomorrow...

IT HAS BEGUN!!!

P.S. I'm sure the pics of my backpack and books are boring to you but I LOVE my backpack!! I got it in Vegas while my best friend Kristy and I were out there visiting my Aunt and Uncle (way before Ryan and I lived there, even before we were engaged)! Anyway, just thought this was a fitting post to include a picture of it...I just might be the coolest kid in school tomorrow :)

Our Sweet Boy!!

(The picture has nothing to do with the post, I just think he's cute!!)

Colin was being a little crabby this morning so I put him in his room for a little bit. It wasn't a time out and he wasn't in trouble. Sometimes when he gets in his "moods" it does him (and me) some good to play in his room by himself for a little while. He had been in there about 20 minutes but I didn't think he'd gone to sleep so I figured I'd go ahead in there to play with him. When I walked in he said "uh oh" and I saw that he had thrown up on his floor. He had gotten his baby wipes out and started trying to clean it up!!! How cute is that?! I told him it was okay and that mommy would finish cleaning it up for him. We went downstairs to get some spot shot and paper towels. When we came back up I sprayed the spot shot and started wiping it up. Colin took the spot shot, pointed it at the carpet, made a noise like it was spraying, pulled a paper towel off the roll, and started wiping the carpet! He makes me laugh!!

**I don't think he's sick. He's acting totally fine and we ran around and played for quite a bit after we got everything cleaned up. Maybe it was a fluke throw-up. Who knows?!

A similar thing happened the other day. We were at my parents house and Colin spilled some Gatorade on the floor. I told him to stay in his chair and mommy would clean it up. When I came back over with paper towels he got underneath the kitchen table with me, pulled off a paper towel and started wiping up the Gatorade! He's so sweet!!

On a side note, I think I've forgotten to mention lately but Colin has NINE teeth!!! It might not seem like a lot to some people but up until July all he had were 4! Those first four were horrible coming in. He wouldn't eat or drink and would just cry and cry. I didn't even know these last 5 had come through! Seriously, I noticed one at his 18 month check up and decided to put my finger in his mouth sometime after that and there are 9 whole teeth in there!! We love him so much!! We are so blessed to be his parents!!!

Messy Boys!

My parents are out of town so we had my brothers and sister over for dinner last night. For dessert I had made angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Ryan and I went upstairs to put Colin to bed and when I came back down this is what greeted me:

Apparently Josh had attacked little Ryan with the whipped cream!!

These ones are from this morning...maybe Colin felt left out since he missed all the fun last night! He wanted to feed himself his yogurt so I told him he could if he sat in his high chair. Needless to say, he poured the whole thing out and had a grand time playing in it!

This is during his bath after the yogurt incident! He wanted to hold the camera!!

We haven't had too much exciting stuff going on lately. It's pretty much same old, same old! My last day of work was Friday. I took the entire week off so I can spend some quality time with Colin before school starts next Monday...ahhh!! I can't believe it's already here. I'm nervous and excited and a little bit stressed! Enough about that, though!

Colin has been cracking us up lately (well, really he's been doing that his whole life)! If you ask him what a monkey says he says: "ah ah ahh ahhh ahhh"!! Yesterday he learned how to say: "Moo" (and he knows a cow says that, but sometimes he gets confused and says all animals say that)! He also learned that lions and tigers say "roar"!

We got him a Little Tikes car this week. He absolutely loves it!! It's the first thing he notices when you open the door to the garage and he throws a fit if he doesn't get to play with it!

He loves fruit snacks and string cheese right now. When we give him the pack of fruit snacks he gets a bowl from the tupperware cabinet, throws them all in there, throws his wrapper away in the trash can, eats his fruit snacks, and puts the bowl back where he got it!! He really likes switching things from bowl to bowl also..if he has 2 bowls he will just continue to move things back and forth, it seriously keeps him entertained for like 30 minutes!

He also started "hiding" underneath the coffee table. When he does that we make this big deal of asking eachother where Colin went and if the other person has seen him. Then, he'll all of the sudden pop back up and we laugh and clap and he gets so excited! The funniest part is that the coffee table's glass so we can see him through it. When we're asking where he is he looks at us through the glass and you can see his little eyeballs moving from me, to ryan, and back!

That's all the funny stories I can remember right now. I'm sure there's a ton that I'm missing but if I think of them I'll add a new post! And, just because I haven't included any in awhile, here's a picture of our little man!! It's from when we went golfing a few weeks ago!

Missing:

3 of these:

Description: Metal screws that belong to a cabinet in Colin's room. They screw into the sides and the shelf rests on them.

Last seen: On top of Colin's cabinet after he pulled the shelf out numerous times...

Where, oh where could they be? Either we have the best little hider in the world or our monkey of a son ate them! Once we realized they were missing we turned his room upside down looking for them and can't find them anywhere! I even showed him the only one we have left and asked if he knew where the other ones were and he just tried screwing it back into the cabinet!! I really don't want to believe that he swallowed THREE of those things but who knows. I think by the time we realized they were gone and started checking his poop for "golden bullets" it might have been too late..maybe they slipped past us before we even knew!

Slacker

It seems I've been slacking on the blogging front lately! Sorry--just wait til school starts, I'll probably never update! We've had a few "post-worthy" things happening lately but I haven't felt like doing it, or didn't have good pictures, or a combination of both! I still don't have pictures to post so if that's the only reason you look at my blog, you are currently out of luck!

A few fun things that have happened lately:

We went golfing last weekend as a family. We only played 5 holes (and by 'we' I mean 'Ryan'!) I hit a couple balls but was mainly watching Colin. He LOVED driving the golf cart! He would sit in the drivers seat and hold onto the steering wheel and make noises like a car moving! He also liked doing it when Ryan or I were actually driving but he didn't like our hands on the steering wheel, just his! Colin also enjoyed playing with the golf clubs and throwing the balls into the hole! It was a lot of fun--maybe we'll get to go out again before school starts and golf is free but who knows!

Colin's doing a lot better about sleeping in his big boy bed! With the exception of last night, he had 3 or 4 nights in a row where he fell asleep in there and we didn't need to move him when we went to bed!

The other day during Colin's bath he did the funniest thing! We have a shower caddy in there from when I was at SVU. We use it to keep Colin's bath toys in. He also enjoys playing with it during his bath. Last week he picked it up and put it over his shoulder like a purse, had his hand up to his ear like he was talking on a phone, and started walking around the bathtub! It was soooo funny! I wish I would have been able to get a picture but I didn't have the camera in there with us.

Colin had his 18 month appointment last Tuesday. He weighs 25.9 lbs (50th percentile) and is 32.something inches tall (50-75 percentile). Everything else is great!! He did not want to have anything to do with the doctor. He didn't even want to get weighed and measured, he started crying immediately when I tried laying him down on the scale...such a mama's boy these days! I also found out during his appointment that he had gotten another tooth! When he was crying while the doctor was examining him I noticed that his top left (next to center) tooth had already come through! We didn't even know he was getting it! Sinct then his top right (next to center) has also come through! I'm glad they came through easier than the others and he didn't seem to have a lot of pain because of them!

Colin loves to watch 'Home Improvement' (we have most of the seasons on DVD and it is a family favorite in the Doubrava household)! My mom told me that when he was at their house the other day my brother turned it on and Colin heard Tim's voice on the TV, stopped what he was doing, went into the TV room and sat down on the couch to watch it!! Sometimes he'll just hand us the remotes and say "more". He's so funny!!!

Those are a couple fun and funny stories from recently! I'll try to get some more pictures up here soon--oh yeah, Colin had another hair cut on Friday so I'll try to take some of that!
