I feel like all my blog posts this year have been the same. I've done a pretty horrible job of remembering and posting all the funny things Colin's said and all the things that have been going on. I've also done a horrible job of taking pictures! These are pretty much all I have from the last 2 weeks--pretty crazy, huh?! I need to get back into the swing of things- I'm just not quite sure how!
So, let's see, here are a few of the things I can remember:
A couple weeks ago Colin and I were looking at animal flash cards before he went to bed. There was one with a Cardinal on it. The flash card didn't specify that, just said bird. I asked Colin if he knew what kind of bird it was and he said "A baseball bird." You know we're raising that kid right!!!
Sometime in January I decided to go through all his toys and get rid of some stuff. We've got WAY too much! It was a Friday night and I had worked that day so I was pretty tired. I started doing it but kept the box upstairs in the loft instead of hiding it (I try to do these things in cognate so as not to draw attention to it in hopes that he won't notice). I was awakened the next morning to Colin poking me and saying in the saddest voice "Why are all my toys in a box?" He also said after going downstairs and seeing that his toy box could actually shut instead of bursting at the seems "how come there aren't enough toys in here?"
Last week at Stake Conference Colin developed a little crush on some girl sitting in our row. Afterwards he kept telling me he wanted to say hi to her and asking me what her name was. (She was probably 8 years old). I asked him about it on the drive home and asked if he thought she was pretty. He replied: "Yeah, her's like Joni." When I told Ryan about it he said the day before Colin had been talking about how Joni was his girlfriend and he said that she was pretty. Ryan said something about Mommy being pretty and Colin was like "Yeah, but her's yours. Joni is mine!"

Peyton updates: My dear, sweet girl who has been an amazing sleeper her entire life has been waking up some in the middle of the night the last couple weeks. It's not horrible but it is out of the ordinary for her. It's not every night, thank goodness! Sometimes I've just had to get up and put her binky in, once or twice I've had to feed her. It's not usually until 5:30 or 6:30 which is semi-reasonable it's just not normal for her. Last night, however, my baby girl was awake and TALKING at 2:45!!! Eyes open and everything! When I went in her room she was on her belly, arms out of her swaddler, having a little baby conversation, and looking around. She had also peed and her clothes were wet so I had to change her diaper and PJ's as well as get a bottle for her. Luckily she fell back to sleep as she was eating but it wasn't such a pleasant surprise in the middle of the night! THEN, a few hours later I woke up to Colin yelling "Mommy" from his room. (It was about 5:45) I went in and he wanted to know where his lion was we'd bought yesterday. He also wanted to know why the comforter that was on his bed was there (it's not his, his was in the washer, Ryan had forgot to dry it before we left our house yesterday). I had to tell him that it was still the middle of the night and that he needed to go back to sleep. He asked me to lay with him so I decided to just sleep in there. When we woke up at 8 he had no recollection of me coming in and him asking all those questions!
That's about all I remember right now. Here are some pics for those of you who don't remember what my kids look like!
Peyton fell asleep like this last week during Colin's bath. It was so stinkin' cute!

Colin doesn't want to show his face in pictures these days!
