We Miss You, Daddy!

Just some pictures so you remember us :)

-My mom took these pictures of Colin in the bath the other day. The 3rd one down cracks me up! We told him to show Grandma his teeth and then he got mean eyes!

Part of the reason Colin and I decided to go down to Destin with my family is because Ryan was going to be out of town for his moms surgery. He's still with her and will return home on Tuesday. She's doing pretty well at this point but will have to start chemo after she recovers from surgery so we're still pretty worried. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with her and we hope everything goes well! So, to Daddy and Grandma: We hope these pictures brighten your day!

Water Baby

I guess the fun had to come to an end sometime. We are back from our trip to Florida! It doesn't even feel like we were there- it went by so fast! We had a ton of fun and Colin was great {most of the time}! He exceeded my expectations in the sleeping department, for which I am very grateful! The first night we put him on the floor in the closet--it's not as mean as it sounds! I was afraid that if he was in between the beds he would roll underneath them. We left the closet doors open for him and it was the perfect size! He seemed to enjoy it. He slept the whole night! The next night I put him to sleep there but when I went back in he was in my bed so I just let him stay there. The rest of the week we slept in the twin bed together- which wasn't as crowded as I thought it'd be. It was kinda fun because I love cuddling with him!

Colin absolutely loved the beach! The first day we went on a walk and Colin enjoyed running up to the ocean. He fell in face first twice but that didn't seem to deter him. It was a little breezy and I was afraid he'd get too cold so we headed back to the condo. We got in the hot tub to try to warm him up and he loved it! He calls it the "hot pool". All he did in there was sit on the stair or sit on my lap but he kept saying: "I swimming". He's so funny!

Wednesday was kind of cloudy so we hung out inside. We went out to dinner for St. Patty's day. Our plan was to go to McGwire's Irish Pub which my grandparents go to every year on St. Patrick's Day. We got there at 4:30 (their normal time) and thought we would beat the rush. It was crazy! We waited for an hour and I think there were still 75 people ahead of us! We decided to go somewhere else and come back another day.

Thursday thru Saturday Colin and I spent most of our outdoor time on the beach rather than the hot pool. We took his toys down there but he always found someone who had funner toys than his! We would walk for awhile and then just settle in with some other kids and play until I got hungry.

We played a lot of Dominoes and Phase 10 until the wee hours of the night! On Friday we went back to McGwires. My grandpa got a burger called the "garbage burger". The description said: 'A little bit of everything...so disgusting' It had ICE CREAM AND HOT FUDGE on it---among other things that were unidentifiable! He said it tasted okay but wouldn't order it again because it was too hard to eat!

I can't believe the time went by so fast but we're glad we were able to go and spend the time with our family. It was a blast! Now it's back to reality!

Goodbye Car, Hello Sunshine!

Colin and I rode down to Florida today with my mom and little Ryan. It was 12 hours in the car but it went by pretty fast. Colin was really well behaved. I was worried about him screaming the entire way but he didn't have any meltdowns despite his lack of napping. We listened to music, watched movies, ate, and talked. Here's a few pics of us on the road.

Nothing beats boredom in the car like putting a bowl on your head!

A much needed but very short nap!

The beautiful sunshine :)

Ryan's Barbershop

It was that time again--when Colin needed a haircut! Ryan was going to try the fade this time but Colin's hair is still a little too thin for that. He was awesome for his haircut! We promised him he could have a pop (lollipop) afterwards and he sat there so perfectly! He wasn't quite a fan when all the hair fell on him and got him "dirty" but he really enjoyed it when Ryan gave him the little brush to clean himself off with! He's such a stud!

I look ugly- pay no attention to that!

{A cute story from dinner tonight} I made some chicken and vegetables but Colin wanted macaroni and cheese so I made him some of that. Ryan got him a big bowl and set in on the table. Colin kept saying "ble" (as in, the end of vegetaBLE)-it sounded a lot like Belle, which is his puppy so I thought that's what he was talking about. He went over to the counter where the vegetables were and said: "ble, please." I love that he said please. He's so polite! And it's so exciting to see that he picks up on all the things we're teaching him! Yesterday he was playing with Belle and grabbed her and accidentally hurt her (I think he just pulled her hair), she yelped and then growled and he was like "sorry, sorry". He's such a sweetie! We love him!

Apparently blog posts don't count unless they include new pictures of Colin. I have been getting lots of flack from certain siblings (one might be aforementioned) about my lack of posting and more importantly, lack of new pics. The main problem with this is that I DON'T HAVE ANY GOOD, NEW PICS. I don't want to just keep putting crappy pictures up on my blog. But, in order to appease my brother and "keep my family periodically connected through my blog" I am adding 1 picture of Colin until I get some more!

This is seriously the best picture option I've got to show right now. The rest of them are the top of Colin's bubble head (and that's a serious bubble head, I might add!) but you can't see his cute face! Sorry it's another bath time pic. I swear we take pictures of him when he's got clothes on too!

Time for an Update

No pictures, just blogging! I was very (not) nicely harrassed by my brother today about needing to update the blog so I guess it's that time! Life has been hectic around here lately. Ryan is still finishing up the super-secret project (it's totally not a secret, just on the blog because he wants to tell about it), school is nuts (next week will be the worst--two tests, a practical, a paper, and massage day- ahhhh!), Colin is great. He loves running around and screaming. He especially likes it when someone is holding him and someone else chases them around. I think Pa and Uncle Ryan are his two favorites for that but Mommy and Daddy will do at home.

We recieved some bad news about Ryans mom last week. She has been diagnosed with lung cancer. At this point everything appears to be a blessing in disguise because the doctors said that it is not aggressive and very early stages. She went in for a regular physical and her doctor just so happened to take a chest X-ray. Something showed up in her lung, he wasn't too concerned about cancer but wanted to get a CAT scan anyway just to be safe. As it turns out, what showed up on the X-ray was just scar tissue, what showed up on the CAT scan was cancer. She meets with someone next week to set up surgery. Ryan will go down to be with her whenever that happens. We feel very lucky and blessed at this point because it appears to be such early detection and hope and pray that everything will go well and that her doctors will be inspired during her treatment. She is so special to both of us and we always love talking to her and hanging out with her!!!

Other than that, not much else is going on here. We might be getting a new car soon- much to Ryan's excitement and my dismay. Ryan's excited because it will be his and I'll drive the Jeep full-time (we've been switching off and on because we both want to drive it), I'm dismayed because I don't want another car payment but whatever!

So, I guess that's all that's happening around here. Sorry so boring!

Colin did do the cutest thing today. I sneezed and he told me "Bless you!" I love him!!!
