Merry Christmas!

We didn't exactly have the Christmas I expected this year. I was so excited because everyone was going to be home and I thought it would be a really great Christmas. Sadly, the flu is apparently going around.
Peyton woke up in the middle of the night Friday and had thrown up in her bed. Saturday she seemed okay but had a slight fever. Sunday morning the fever was gone so we took her to church. Bad idea. She projectile vomited all over the 2 of us during sacrament meeting. I wasn't sure if it was the flu, teething, or because she got shots on Thursday.
This morning Jeannie told us she had been up throwing up a lot of the night. She ended up staying here while we went to my parents. When we got over there we found out that Ryan and Joni were also feeling bad. By the time I left tonight my mom had also thrown up. Not so fun! I'm hoping everyone feels better by tomorrow and that no one else gets it. Ugh.
So anyway, it wasn't the Christmas I was expecting but we still had fun. Yesterday afternoon we opened our presents after reading about Christ's birth in Luke 2. Peyton wasn't really interested in opening any of her presents so we had to do it for her. Colin loved it though!
Last night we went to grandma and grandpa's with all the rest of the family. It was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone! (Luckily no one was feeling sick yet!)

Here are the pictures from yesterday. I'll post today's another time because I'm tired!

Colin in his new PJ's!

My kids don't like to sit still for pictures! Colin did good!

Ryan made me this shirt!
Sitting with Great Grandma
Family picture! I love this one! Maybe one day we'll have everyone looking the same direction without things in the kids mouths!

Even though a lot of people aren't feeling well today I'm still grateful everyone's here and we're able to spend time together!

Recent Happenings

We've been pretty busy this month, quite like everyone else, I'm sure! Rachel got home Sunday night. Ryan was in Orlando this week for work. I worked Monday and Wednesday. Jeannie came last night (Ryan got home yesterday as well). Jason got in this morning (he was going to drive down yesterday but we had some snow/sleet and really strong winds so he decided to wait until this morning. The roads were worse up by him but he didn't have too much trouble). I work tomorrow morning and Josh and Joni get in tomorrow afternoon.
I love this time of year and am so grateful that all my siblings will be home and that Jeannie's here as well! It's going to be a very busy couple of weeks but it will be so much fun! I guarantee it will go by way too fast!
Peyton had her 15 month check up yesterday.
She weighs: 24 lbs 6.5 ounces (86%)
Height: 32" (88%)

To compare- {Colin at 15 months}
Weight: 22 lbs 14 ounces (25%)
Height: 33 inches (75%)
I think they changed the scale they use to measure the percentages so I'm not sure what Peyton's are compared to how they measured Colin's.

Everything looks great. Last time Peyton went to the doctor her hemoglobin was a little low which means she was borderline anemic. They checked it again and her numbers look great so we don't need to worry about that anymore. He checked her head one more time and said it feels like it's healing awesome. She had to get 4 shots which she HATES. Afterwards Colin told me he was scared when she got her shots. He came over to her and asked me if he could kiss her legs for her. It was the sweetest thing ever!

The only issue with her is that she needs to stop drinking bottles. She DOES NOT want her milk in a cup. She cries, throws it down, signs milk. Yesterday she threw the cup on the floor and then kicked it. It was pretty hilarious. However, that does not bode well for the transition to cups only! I know I need to just make her quit cold turkey but that doesn't seem like a fun couple of days! I was spoiled by Colin because he quit cold turkey no problems! As soon as I took the bottle away he never looked back!

Things Peyton does and says:
-Signs: milk, more, sleepy
-Signed 'food' this morning
-Has tried to sign 'poop' and says it--pretty funny!
-Babbles a lot. She pretty much says regularly all the words I've already posted on here
She's such a sweetie!

(A sneak peek of her Christmas PJ's!)
Colin's Christmas break started yesterday. He loves school so much! He colors and cuts out pictures constantly! He loves practicing his letters. He got in trouble a couple times on Tuesday for lying to me. The first time he came in the bathroom when I was taking a shower and was wearing a spiderman PJ shirt over a blue long sleeved shirt. He had colored the sleeves on the blue shirt red with a color wand. When I asked him what happened to his sleeves he told me he didn't know numerous times before finally telling me the truth. Then that afternoon he tried to climb the curtains and bent the curtain rod. When I asked him how that happened he told me Peyton did it. After getting in trouble for lying a 2nd time we had a discussion and I asked him what was going on with him. He told me "My brain's doing stupid stuff."

Tonight when the kids were getting ready to take a bath he said "I like Peyton's Santa belly." It was pretty funny!

I made him take a nap yesterday and this is how he fell asleep!
That's what's been going on over here. Now I've got to get to bed so I can get up at 5:30 and go into work!

Baby Carts

We went to Eckert's with Kim and Garrison for lunch the other day. Afterwards we decided to go walk around in the little store. They have miniature carts over there for the kids to push. They're so cute! Peyton loved it! She did a pretty good job and didn't really run into too much! She knew exactly where she wanted to go and if I tried to help her she'd bat my hand away. She also screamed if I tried to get her to go a different direction! She's a feisty one!

Speaking of feisty: She had her CT this morning to check on her skull fracture. She did NOT like it! They had a TV on the ceiling playing Dora, which she enjoyed for a minute. They cocooned her up in blankets and she got her hands out pretty quickly so I had to hold them while they got the shots. She cried and cried. Poor girl. They said it's healing well but that it's not completely healed yet and that there's still a small soft spot on her head so they want to see her back in 3 months to make sure it's fully healed by then and that the soft spot's gone. Good grief! Who'd have thunk this would be a never ending process?! However, I'm glad they're taking precautions and making sure that there's nothing wrong with her!

Colin's Christmas Program

Last Wednesday night was the Christmas program for Colin's school. Each class sang 1 song. His class did 'Frosty the Snowman'. Colin was the cop! It was kind of hard to hear the kids but then they put the microphone up to the CD player. We still couldn't hear the kids but at least we could hear something! Colin did so great! It was so much fun watching him up there! When they walked in he was looking around for us. Cutest thing ever!
He was saluting for Ryan and practicing holding up his stop sign

His class

A) I can't believe it's Christmas time
B) I can't believe I've got a kid old enough to have school performances!

Santa Claus and Reindeer

Saturday morning the kids and I went to the Santa Breakfast with my Grandma, Aunt Kim, Allison, and Nolan. I was sure Peyton would cry when she sat on Santa's lap but she didn't! She even gave him a high five after I took her back! Poor girl was so snotty that day that both her cheeks and her nose were red :( Colin asked for a Thor hammer, Thor plane, and Spiderman. We weren't sure what a Thor plane was but I think I figured it out! Peyton's too young to care what she gets :)

That night Ryan and I went Christmas shopping and out to dinner. It was a fun date!
These are the cookies I made for Colin's school Christmas performance tonight. Pictures of that to follow!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

I got all our Christmas decorations out on Wednesday while Colin was at school. That night before basketball we put up our tree. I am still in such disbelief that Christmas is here again! Where do the  years go?! I absolutely love this time of year though!
Colin drank some hot chocolate while Ryan got the tree ready. Don't you worry, we had the NSYNC Christmas going, much to Ryan's chagrin! Peyton was a great helper! She really liked "putting" the lights on!

She even helped with ornaments. Is that not the cutest thing ever!
Thankfully she's been pretty good about not messing with the tree since then. We'll see if that lasts!
Her little section. I love that she put a cow and camel up there! They're from the Nativity set my mom had when I was a kid. I don't have it out this year because a bunch of the pieces are broken but they were in the ornament box and she was grabbing whatever she could get. Darling!

Colin wanted to do the star so Daddy helped him before he left for B-ball!

Merry Christmas!!

Superhero Kids

These kids are so funny! Gosh, we love them!
(Colin put this together all on his own!)

The Last of the Thanksgiving Pictures

Here are the rest of the Thanksgiving pictures:

We enjoyed playing in Grandma's back yard
Football
Peyton loved this statue. She would say "Baby" and she patted it!
I think he was being a tiger
She was playing peek-a-boo with us
Another gorgeous sunset
More peek-a-boo! Loving her pig tails and jeggings! And that little bum sticking out!
We went outside to sit by the firepit
Peyton had one of Grandma's curlers in her hair!
Turkey Day- with Aunt Kelly
Uncle Jim carving the turkey
I wanted to get a picture of everyone at the table. This is the best we got. Oh well.

Friday we played corn hole in the backyard

We had such an amazing trip! It went by way too fast. We are so blessed with such a great family and I'm glad we were all able to get together! Next up: Christmas!
